Consumer Team Tackles Car Business in 2014

(DALLAS-FT. WORTH, TX)    The Consumer Team radio program will turns its attention to the automobile industry in 2014.   According to Pete Thomson, founder of The Consumer Team, the program will focus on consumer issues in the car business in a very significant way.   Thomson calls the process of buying a car ‘one of the worst’ experiences for consumers.   Thomson added, “It’s no secret that consumers generally don’t do well in their auto transactions.   To a large degree, the deck is stacked against them as they face by an industry that teaches its sales professionals to extract the most profit possible from every prospect.   In 2014, The Consumer Team will peel back the onion on this industry, educate the consumer and then help them get a great deal on their next vehicle.”

Richard Walsh, owner of Auto Locators of Texas, will be joining The Consumer Team as a special contributor starting in 2014.   Walsh’s company specializes in helping consumer acquire late model used vehicles at lower-than-market prices.  Thomson called Walsh a key component to The Consumer Team’s offense against bad car dealers.   Thomson said, “Like several other consumer advocacy groups, The Consumer Team believes that the best way to acquire a car is to buy a used vehicle.  Avoiding the large depreciation hit that comes with a new vehicle puts the consumer in a much stronger position.   Richard and his team at Auto Locators of Texas specialize in finding consumers great used cars but for much less than the big dealerships.  They can do this because their overhead is much lower.   In addition, Auto Locators of Texas doesn’t use all the car tricks that hurt consumers.  We love this business model because the consumer wins.”

The Consumer Team will be airing informational segments every week regarding different aspects of the auto buying process.   Thomson said that an educated consumer is less likely to be on the losing end of a bad car deal.  He added, “Each week we’ll be talking about a different part of the car buying process.  From research tools to how to handle F&I (Finance and Insurance) to extended warranties, we will first educate our listeners.   As a result, our listeners will be able to go toe-to-toe with any car dealer.  Of course, we’re recommending that listeners do business with Auto Locators of Texas so they can avoid all the sharks.”

The Consumer Team is broadcast Saturdays from 5-7PM (Central) on CBS Radio’s KRLD in Dallas.   The Consumer Team is produced by McQ Media, Dallas, Texas.
