(HOUSTON, TEXAS – McQ Media News) The Consumer Team radio program will expand to Houston on 740 KTRH Radio starting May 13, 2017. The program will air Saturdays, 5-6 PM on the station. The Consumer Team has been carried by 1080 KRLD in Dallas-Ft. Worth since 2011. The program will continue to air on KRLD, Saturdays 6-8 PM.

Pete Thomson, host of The Consumer Team, commented on the show’s expansion. He said, “The addition of KTRH and the Houston market is strategic for our program. Joining KTRH will give us the opportunity to reach a huge new group of consumers on the Gulf Coast. The station is the #1 talk station in Houston and we’re thrilled to be joining their line-up.”
The Consumer Team talk format is a combination of consumer news and interviews with consumer advocacy journalists. Thomson regularly interviews writers and editors from Consumer Reports, Consumer’s Union and ConsumerAffairs.com Thomson added, “Consumer Team combines news that consumers need to know with perspective from the leading consumer advocates.”
Additionally, The Consumer Team highlights sponsors who support the program. Thomson called the sponsor team the cornerstone of the broadcast. He said, “We’re very picky about who we endorse on Consumer Team and that’s why our sponsor list is not large. Unlike the large national consumer referral sites who will add almost any business to their lists, we’re very picky. And this means a better, more reliable group of businesses for consumers to to business with.”
