I really like Thanksgiving. I mean, I really, really like Thanksgiving. As a young boy growing up in Iowa, Thanksgiving represented the beginning of the end of the year. In a farming community, Thanksgiving was a time when the harvest was complete. Colder weather meant people coming together, inside where it was warm. Fireplaces were fired up for the first time as family gathered to catch up, swap stories and enjoy each others company. Even in those early thanksgivings, I could tell that the day held a special meaning for our family. It was on those early Thanksgivings that I really began to understand the word gratitude.
As we come to the end of 2012, I’m very thankful for a number of things. First, God has blessed McQ Media in amazing ways that I could not even imagine. He’s brought us very special clients who we are honored to serve. Each day, we’re blessed to work with men and women of the highest caliber and character.
Beyond the people and companies we serve, McQ Media is also blessed with advertising and media partners who truly understand the challenges that small business face in this brave new world. This year, specifically, we’ve been able to forge new, unique and exciting media partnerships that have resulted in significant new growth for our clients.
And lastly, I’m amazed at the quality of people that have joined our team at McQ Media. From creative services to client services and promotions, I’m thankful for the opportunity to work with an incredibly creative and talented group of professionals who share a common desire to serve.
A song that truly captures the essence of gratitude is “The Thanksgiving Song” by Mary Chapin Carpenter. Each year, we feature it in a number of our on-air programs. I encourage you to click the link below to hear the song.
