Online Video Can Make (or Break) a Small Business

(DALLAS-FT. WORTH, TEXAS)    Small business has discovered online video.   Do a search in any business category and you’ll see more and more business owners utilizing videos to market their business.   According to McQ Media Inc. President & CEO Pete Thomson, the increase in video content has been both good and bad for small business.  Thomson commented, “YouTube’s authority in the search process is powerful and small business owners are recognizing this.  However, what’s often missing from many promotional videos is any sense of strategy, continuity or production value.”   Thomson said this lack of quality is causing a kind of ‘Wayne’s World’ look to many videos that can do harm to a business image.   He added, “It all goes back to first impression.  In fact, many consumers are going to make a judgement about a company based on the first 10 seconds of video content.  If a message isn’t presented well, the customer is lost.”
