(Dallas-Ft. Worth, TX) Texas Retirement Specialists and McQ Media are producing a series of short-form audio vignettes focusing on financial literacy. The campaign will run throughout April, which is Financial Literacy Month. Jim Poe, CEO and founder of Texas Retirement Specialists will voice the features for broadcast on The Found Money Report radio program. The program airs weekly on Dallas-Ft. Worth radio stations KRLD and WBAP.
Pete Thomson, President/CEO of McQ Media, said that the financial literacy campaign has been an annual feature of The Found Money Report since its launch in 2012. He said, “In addition to being a financial planner, Jim Poe is a teacher. He loves to help people learn about money and how to improve their lives with sound money management. The annual financial literacy campaign each April is Jim at his best.” Thomson, who serves as Jim Poe’s co-host on The Found Money Report, added that the campaign features information for listeners of all ages. He said, “Of course, a number of the features focus on how to teach kids to understand the basics of money management. However, much of the information can be valuable to people of all ages.”
Jim Poe called the financial literacy campaign an example of how he wants his radio show to be different. He said, “The Found Money Report is all about education. Each week we talk about ways that people can prepare for success in retirement. The financial literacy campaign talks about the basics that we must master in order to be successful money managers in our lives.”
Since starting an adult education college course, “Conservative Investing for Retirement”, in January 2013, Jim Poe’s role as a financial educator has grown steadily. The course was launched at UTA in Arlington and is now offered at college campuses throughout North Texas.
The Found Money Report is broadcast Saturdays at 10AM on 1080 KRLD and 2PM on 820 WBAP. The Found Money Report is produced by McQ Media, Dallas-Ft. Worth, Texas.
