KRLD Wins Edward R. Murrow Award….Again!

(DALLAS-FT. WORTH, TEXAS – McQ Media News)   1080 KRLD has won an Edward R. Murrow Award.…again!    The Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA) recently announced the winners of the Regional Murrow Awards for 2015.   KRLD was named an winner for best breaking news and best continuing coverage.  The KRLD Afternoon News won the award for “Best Newscast” for the station’s coverage of December 26, 2015 tornadoes in Dallas.

1080 KRLD Radio Wins Edward R. Murrow Award Again!

KRLD has won previous Murrow Awards, including their 2013 Award for “Best Afternoon News”.  The RTDNA has been honoring outstanding achievements in electronic journalism with the Edward R. Murrow Awards since 1971.  Award recipients demonstrate the spirit of excellence that Murrow set as a standard for the profession of electronic journalism.

Pete Thomson, CEO of McQ Media, commented on KRLD’s recent award.  He said, “KRLD is an iconic radio station in Dallas-Ft. Worth.  Their standards for reporting and on-air presentation are impressive.   And, in a time where top 10 market stations are cutting back on news operations, Paul Mann and his team have assembled an outstanding team of professionals that people in DFW count on for breaking news.”

McQ Media produces two programs that air on 1080 KRLD Radio.  The Consumer Team, a consumer advocacy program, airs Saturdays from 6-8 PM.  Found Money Radio, a financial talk show, airs Saturdays from 10-11 AM.    Commenting on McQ Media’s programs that air on KRLD, Thomson added “We’re proud to have The Consumer Team and Found Money Radio anchored on KRLD.   We put a lot of time into editing and post production to ensure that a major market product goes on-air.   And we’re proud to be on the #1 rated news stations in DFW.”
